Conversion Technology

VAST is focused on two main technology areas, Pyrolysis and SolvoThermal Liquefaction (STL).

PYROLYSIS is a process that has its strength in conversion of materials containing low amounts of oxygen and water, e.g., plastic. VAST cooperates with suppliers of pyrolysis technology.

STL is a process that has its primary application within conversion of biomass feedstocks. It does allow for a certain content of oxygen and water. The process uses alcohol as a solvent that is recovered after conversion of the feedstock. VAST cooperates with technology companies within the STL area and is further active in further optimization of the technology using proprietary improvements.
