VAST, founded in 2022 in Denmark, develops and will operate facilities for production of low-carbon fuels and chemicals using proven technologies and vendors. VAST is accelerating the transition towards circular resource utilization and the energy transition. VAST aims for reducing dependency of fossil carbon, slowing the consumption of virgin materials and reducing pollution.

The technology platform primarily used is the SoFa^TM platform combining biomass conversion to bio-oil and methanol production from the excess gas produced as a by-product to the bio-oil production. The combined processes offers an unprecedented carbon utilization and hence a very favorable LCA profile.

The VAST team has extensive experience and knowledge in the development, commercialization, scale-up, and de-risking of technologies for advancement of ultra low carbon fuels and chemicals.

VAST partners with stakeholders throughout the entire value chain, including feedstock suppliers, site-owners, infrastructure operators, logistics partners, fuel or end product off-takers, equity or debt financiers and technology providers.
